Age 80

Allan Lee Burr, age 80, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, AZ. Allan was born on August 9, 1942 in Juneau, WI, son of Edgar and Irene (Kreger) Burr. He graduated from high school and served our country in Army National Guard from 1966 until 1970. On April 28, 1973 he married Vicki Mueller. Allan tested motors at Mercury Marine for over 40 years. He enjoyed golfing until his back problems caused him to find other pleasures. One of his most enjoyable pastimes was going to truck and tractor pulls around the state. His favorite competitors were Christopher and Aaron, two of his grandsons. Many a night he and Vicki sat huddled under blankets watching them pull. For years he followed his grandchildren’s adventures, whether it be a sport, hunting or fishing. In the past two years he watched closely the dirt bike racing of his two great-grandchildren. But one of his favorite pastimes was playing shuffleboard. He was a very good player, teacher and mentor of the game. He achieved a first place in the district and he and Vicki took the gold medal in May at the National Senior Olympics in Florida. Allan is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vicki Burr; two daughters, Pamala (Randy) Dykstra of Dalton, WI and Renee (David) Sell of Oshkosh, WI; a granddaughter, Kayla (Aaron) Olds of Dalton, WI; grandsons, Kody and Kasey Dykstra of Dalton, WI, Christopher (Mandi) Nighbor of Neshkoro, WI, and Aaron (Karly Stadler) Nighbor of Van Dyne, WI; and great-grandchildren, Kalob and Zoey Olds of Dalton, WI. He is further survived by his brother, Keith (Angela) Cotton of AR, and a brother-in-law, Jeff (Sandra) Mueller of Ripon, WI. He so loved his nephews; great-nephews; niece; and great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and George Cotton; mother and father-in-law, Jeanette and Kenneth Mueller; a grandson, Thomas Nighbor; brother-in-law, DeWayne Mueller; and sister-in-law, Pamela Mueller. Visitation for Allan will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 9:00 - 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. Funeral service for Allan will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Pastor Donald Deike officiating. A memorial is being established in his name.
