Gerald “Jerry” William Schulz, age 88, of Ripon, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2023 at ThedaCare Hospital in Berlin, WI, with his loving family by his side. Gerald was born in Ripon on February 1, 1934, son of William and Bethel (Hyde) Schulz. He graduated from Ripon High School in 1952 and went on to study agriculture at UW Madison. On August 21, 1954, Gerald married the love of his life, Carol Nienas at Evangelical United Brethren Church of Ripon. He served our country in the U.S. Army from 1954 until 1956, stationed at both Fort Knox, Kentucky and in Thule, Greenland. Gerald was a lifelong farmer, a past Pickett Co-Op President and board member, United Co-Op member as well as a member of United Ethanol, and a devoted and past trustee member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. Most importantly, Gerald held closest to him the love of farming and the love of his family. Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Carol Schulz of Ripon, WI; children, Jeffery (Cheryl) Schulz, Janelle (David) Mundy, Kathleen (Gregg) Chatterson, and Jonathan (Donna) Schulz; grandchildren, Jessica (Edward) Palmer, Bonnie (Allen) Schmucker, Amy Schulz, Leonard (Samantha) Schulz, Austin (Ashley) Mundy, Tyler Mundy, Anna Page (Christopher) Runyon, Kaitlan Gibbons, Lane (Sarah) Gibbons, Jennifer (Logan) Metesh, Paige (William) Backus, Jared (fiancé, Tara) Schulz, Amanda (James) Mallory, Rachel (Samuel) Horowitz; 6 great grandchildren; brother, John (Barbara) Schulz; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bethel Schulz. Visitation for Gerald will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 9:00 - 11:00 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 W. Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI 54971. A Celebration of Life for Gerald will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 11:00 am with Rev. Harsha Kotian officiating.
