Marilyn Ethel Stark, age 91, of Ripon, WI, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Maplecrest Manor in Ripon. Marilyn was born July 16, 1931 in Omro, WI, the daughter of Raymond and Josephine (Gay) Jones. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1949 and married Marvin Stark at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in 1951. Marilyn worked for many years in shoe sales at Haase Shoes in Ripon, but her main focus was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother to her children, and a homemaker. Marilyn was also a very involved member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, serving on a variety of committees over the years, teaching Sunday school, and singing with the choir. Outside of church, Marilyn served as a leader for her daughters’ Brownies and Girl Scout Troops. Marilyn is survived by her children, Deborah Stark of Ripon, WI, Michael (Sherri) Stark of Middleton, WI, Susan (Roemy) Rahn and Elizabeth (Fred) Handrich, both of Ripon; five grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Neaves, Cindy Rahn, Tyler (Kim) Rahn, Ryan (Danielle) Stark, and David (Tegan) Stark; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Myla, Liam, Connor and Owen; and sisters-in-law, Verna Herreid of Coppell, TX and Marilyn (Bruce) Patrick of Waupun, WI. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Marvin Stark; parents, Raymond and Josephine Jones; sister, Betty Hoffman; brother, Gayland (Beverly) Jones; and brothers-in-law, Harold (Lillian) Stark and Roger Herreid. Visitation for Marilyn will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 9 – 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971. A memorial service for Marilyn will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, with Rev. Dr. Kevin P. Mundell officiating. Inurnment will follow at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in Pickett, WI. A memorial is being established in her name.
