Adrian “Gil” Gilliam, age 83, of Green Lake, WI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, with his loving wife by his side.

Gil was born in Kentucky on November 7, 1941, son of James and Louise (Bryant) Gilliam. After high school he went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army, where he served in Vietnam. On April 5, 1969 he married Judy Wagner. After moving to Green Lake, WI, he worked for the City of Green Lake, the canning factory in Ripon, the Berlin Foundry, and most recently Menasha Corp. until his retirement. Gil’s favorite thing to do was mow his and the neighbor’s lawn. He took great pride in their yards looking good.

Gil is survived by his loving wife, Judy Gilliam; two daughters, Tammy and Sarah; grandchildren, Samantha, Michael (Shane), Lillian, and Grayson; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Jaxon, and Evelyn Rose; brothers, Rockie, Gordon, and Wayne; two sisters, Laura and Tammy; a sister-in-law, Pauline; a brother-in-law, William Wagner; and many nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Louise Gilliam; mother and father-in-law, Arnold and Geraldine Wagner; brothers, Maurice, Henry and Jack; and sisters, Callie, Alice, Darlene, and Mary.

A private committal service for Gil’s family will take place at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King, WI, with Pastor Benjamin Frei officiating. A final salute and full military honors will take place immediately following the committal service.

Friends may gather for a time of visiting and celebrating Gil’s life on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the American Legion, 518 Water St., Green Lake, WI 54941. Sandwiches and refreshments will also be served. A memorial is being established in Gil’s name.

Gil’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of Wisconsin Veteran’s Home at King, along with ThedaCare Hospice for their wonderful care and support.
