Agnes Louise (nee Hein) Bier Gatzke, age 92, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon with her family by her side.
Agnes was born on April 4, 1920, in Ripon, the daughter of Herman and Louise (Pinno) Hein. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1938 and in April of 1946, Agnes married Alfred Bier who passed away on August 8, 1965. She then married Wilbert “Jack” Gatzke on July 28, 1973 and he passed on February 8, 2008. Agnes gave 26 years of service to Ripon Foods and after retiring in 1982, she enjoyed giving tours through the company. Agnes was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon and the VFW Auxillary.
Survivors include her son, DuWayne (special friend, Kris Koplitz) Bier of Pickett, WI; granddaughter, Heather (Josh) Delforge of Freedom, WI; grandson, Captain Joel (Nicole) Bier of Nellis US Air Force Base, Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren, Owen and Sydney Delforge; brother, Harold Hein of Nipigon, Canada and several nieces and nephews. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents and both of her husbands.
Visitation for Agnes will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, from 12 – 1:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Agnes will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at 1:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Jerry Schrankler will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
