Agnes Rake

Agnes H. Rake, age 89, died Friday, November 9, 1990, at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.

She was born April 27, 1901, in Beaver Dam, a daughter of John and Elizabeth (Hammond) Lewis. In June 1924 she married Joe Rake. On August 25, 1965, he preceded her in death. Mrs. Rake taught country school in the Randolph Area before moving to Ripon in 1930. She was supervisor of the school lunch program at Ripon High School for many years. She also managed the canteen at Green Giant in Ripon. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Ripon and of the Ladies Aid. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include many nieces, nephews and friends. One son, Phillip preceded her in death on October 31, 1946. One brother and 7 sisters also preceded her in death.

Friends may call Sunday, November 11, 1990, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rake will be held Monday, November 12, 1990 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Ripon with the Reverend Dean Peterson officiating. Interment will be in St. Gabriel Cemetery, Randolph. Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church in her name.
