Albert S. Odom, Jr., age 75, formerly of 204 Elm St., Ripon, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2003, at Michalenes in Ripon.
He was born August 11, 1928, in Nevarro County, Corsicana, TX, the son of Albert S. and Edna (Earle) Odom, Sr. Albert received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Houston and his Masters from Columbia University in New York. Following 15 years of teaching high school in Albany, NY, Albert moved to Ripon in 1968, and worked for the National Forensic League until his retirement in 1993. Albert was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Ripon and a member of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew and lector.
Survivors include 3 sisters, Doris Jean Theiler of Austin, TX, Sondra Ann Johnson of Tyler, TX and Barbara Clark of Texas City TX; and 1 brother, Harvey Jay Odom of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of the Resurrection for Albert S. Odom will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2003, at St. Peters Episcopal Church with the Reverend Kenneth Guy officiating. Visitation will be Saturday after the service in the church undercroft until 2 p.m. Inurnment will be in Garden of the Cross Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials in his name to St. Peters Episcopal Church.
