Mrs. Aleda Elizabeth Worthen, 88, of 50 Wolverton Ave., Ripon, died Monday, July 25, 1988, at Parkview Nursing Home, Ripon.
She was born March 18, 1900, in Oshkosh, to Frederick and Emily E. Schmidt Cowling. On June 15, 1921, she married Martin Worthen who preceded her in death on December 21, 1985.
Mrs. Worthen was educated in Oshkosh. She was a housewife and had resided in Oshkosh and Racine, and she moved to Ripon in 1966. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Ripon and a member of Order of the Eastern Star of Oshkosh.
Survivors include her son, Jack Worthen of Appleton; three daughters, Bettyann Manser of Ripon, Joan Worthen of Honolulu, Mrs. Lee (Katheryn) Ambrose of Aspen, CO; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Three sisters and 2 brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held thursday, July 28, 1988, at 11:00 am at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. The Reverend Lawrence Janssen will officiate and interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh.
Friends may call Thursday from 10:00 am until the hour of services at the funeral home.
