Aletha W. Cammack, age 94, Ripon, died Wednesday evening, January 30, 2002, at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.
She was born October 29, 1907, in Hedrick, Iowa, the daughter of Elvy and Maude (Grissom) West. She received her schooling in Fairfield, Iowa and also attended Parsons College in Fairfield. On February 13, 1937, she married Clifton Cammack. Aletha had lived in Ripon since 1939, and had been a secretary and Dictaphone operator at Speed Queen until her retirement. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Ripon, Church Women United, Ripon Science Club, and AARP, and had been active in community volunteer work and Hospice.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Evelyn Cammack of Sedona, Arizona; and many friends. Her husband, Clifton Cammack preceded her in death on October 2, 1959.
Funeral service for Aletha W. Cammack will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2002, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with Rev. Rebecca A. Johnston officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials to the First Congregational Church.
