Alfred A. Buchholz, age 90, formerly of Ripon, died June 18, 1996, at Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana, IL.
He was born April 13, 1906, in Ripon, the son of John and Mary Buchholz. He was educated in Ripon. On June 6, 1932, he married the former Marion Diedrich. Mrs. Buchholz passed away on May 16, 1989.
Alfred worked for 33 years in the US Postal Service and was superintendent of mail in the Ripon Post Office. He retired in 1972. He was a member of the Christian Science Church in Ripon.
He is survived by his son, Roger (Glenda) Buchholz of Rantoul, IL, 2 grandchildren and 2 great—grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and 2 brothers.
Private funeral services will be held Monday, June 24, 1996, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Visitation to the public will be Tuesday from 10 until 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon.
