Alice Jean Briskie, 72, of Ripon, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2008 at her daughter’s farm with her family at her side.
Alice was born on October 5, 1935, at home in Oak Center, WI, the daughter of Steven and Anna (Vande Kolk) Vande Brink. She attended Ripon Schools and on February 1, 1956 she married Dan L. Baker, and on January 13, 1975 she married Raymond Miller, and on July 24, 2004 she married Anthony Briskie. Alice was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. She was a caregiver and owned and operated Miller Home Care for 25 years.
Survivors include her husband, Anthony Briskie of Ripon; three daughters, Sue (Kevin) Finch Brown of Ripon, Joyce (Dave) Evans, and Wanda (Dan) McMahon both of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren, John (Sarah) Finch of Menomonee Falls, WI, Damnond L. Bulson of Tampa, FL, Stuart (Lisa) Schumacher of Oshkosh, WI, Robyn (Jeremy) Hardy of Tucson, AZ, and Brad Evans of Phoenix, AZ; great-grandchildren, Cailyn Finch, Louis and Lilly Schumacher, Tyler and Mackenzie Hardy. She is also survived by four brothers, Robert (Shirley) Vande Brink, Steve (Barb) Vande Brink, Joe (Janet) Vande Brink, Ed (Marion) Vande Brink; five sisters, Mary Ellen Grahn of Ripon, Sharon (Dan) Sina of Ripon, Diane (Terry) Sauerbrei of Fond du Lac, Donna (Ronald) Brewer of Merrill, and Jean Ann (Arden) Patchett of Green Lake; step-children, Vicki (Al) Woyak of Green Lake, WI; Chris (Margie) Briskie of Greendale, Ida (Bill) Barnarda of Menomonee Falls, Sandra Waldsmidt of Sussex, Alan (Jill) Briskie of Ripon, Bruce (Sherry) Briskie of Ripon, and a special great-granddaughter, Haley of Ripon. and many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Raymond Miller; her daughter, Karey; two brothers, Donald and Richard Vande Brink; one brother-in-law, Rheuben Grahn; and one sister-in-law, Sharon Vande Brink.
Visitation for Alice J. Briskie will be held from 4 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again on Thursday, from 10-11:00 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon.
Funeral services for Alice J. Briskie will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon with Reverend Paul W. Nulton Officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A Memorial has been established.
