Alice Lemiesz, age 90, of the American House in Ripon, died Saturday afternoon April 28, 2001, at Parkview Care Center after a short stay.
Alice was born August 10, 1910, in Ripon, a daughter to George and Jessie (Sattler) Stellmacher. She was educated in Ripon and attended Ripon High School. She married Walter Lemiesz on January 8, 1931 and they farmed together in the Ripon area. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Ripon and enjoyed being a housewife and gardening.
Survivors include three sons, Walter Jr. (Eunice) of Ripon, Donald (Ann) of Markesan, and David of Greeley, Colorado. Five daughters, Phyllis (Robert) Pesqueira of Coral Gables, FL, Alice Jean (Robert) Broder of Brandon, Joanne (Robert) Dykstra of Fall River, Suzanne (Daniel) Schlutter of Plover, and Beverly (William) Fox of Markesan. She is further survived by two brothers, Williard (Dorothy) Stellmacher of Ripon and Floyd Stellmacher of Ripon. Three sisters, Dorothy (Harold) Hill of Milwaukee, Wilma Kohlhardt of Madison and Everdean Zuehls of Montello. Also survived by 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter, on March 6, 1980, and six brothers, Alton, Arland, James, Carlton, Merwin and Woodrow.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at 11:00 am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon with Father Robert A. Fictum officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30 11:00 am at the church. Interment will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. Memorials may be directed to St. Wenceslaus Church in Ripon.
