Alice Margaret Jorgensen, age 101, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
Alice was born March 28, 1914, in the Town of Leon, WI, the daughter of William and Olga (Wesner) Nipko. She attended school at the country school in Poy Sippi, WI. On September 1, 1932 Alice married Thomas Jorgensen and they made their home in the Poy Sippi area until moving to Ripon in 1948, when they purchased R. Line Foods. With Tom, she worked within many phases of the family business. Sewing was her hobby and she made countless quilt tops for missions along with the ladies of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was also a member.
Survivors include her sons, Herb (Carol) Jorgensen of Green Lake, WI, Don (Joyce) Jorgensen of Ripon, WI; grandchildren, Patricia Jorgensen of Menasha, WI, Beth (Steve) Heng of Appleton, WI, Jane (Phillip) Burnett of Crossville, TN, Joel (Haley) Jorgensen of Green Lake, WI, and Mark (Janifer) Jorgensen of Knoxville, TN; eleven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; parents, William and Olga Nipko; brother, Herbert and 2 sisters, Gladys and Virginia.
Visitation for Alice Margaret Jorgensen will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015, from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Alice Margaret Jorgensen will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at 11: 00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon. Reverend Clay R. Salmela will officiate. Interment will follow at Poy Sippi Cemetery in the Town of Poy Sippi. Memorials may be directed to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971.
