Alice LaVerne Pomplun, age 76, of Ripon, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon, WI.
Alice was born on March 4, 1932, in the town of Crystal Lake, WI, the daughter of Rudolph and Laura (Krueger) Schwanke. She attended school in Budsin, WI. Alice married Wilbert Pomplun in 1951 in Wautoma. She was a homemaker and also helped her husband with the family business, Pomplun Logging. Alice was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and enjoyed making greeting cards for all of the seasons.
Survivors include her husband Wilbert, of Ripon, daughter Laverne Pomplun of Oshkosh, nieces Sandy (Larry) Grosenick of Wild Rose, Carol Wedde of Oshkosh and Judy Chesebro of Plover. Grand nieces and nephews Jean, Julie, Sean, Eric, and Ann. Brother and sister-in-laws, family, neighbors and many friends. Preceded in death by her parents and sister Mildred Wedde.
Visitation for Alice Pomplun will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr., in Ripon, from 4-7:00 pm and again on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 from 10-11:00 am.
Funeral service for Alice Pomplun will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at Messiah Lutheran Church at 11:00 am. Pastor Bryan Fritsch will be officiating. Graveside service will be at Wautoma Union Cemetery, city of Wautoma. Memorials may be given to the church.
