Alice Ely Royan, 96, of Ripon, passed away Wednesday evening, July 1, 1998, at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.
She was born at Monroe Center, WI, on October 14, 1901, the daughter of Walter and Delia Hobart Ely. Her family moved to Coloma when she was 2 years old. She taught school in Wisconsin and Oak Park, IL. She married George Royan on July 29, 1930. He preceded her in death on October 1, 1982. Alice was a member of lmmanuel United Methodist Church of Ripon, a member of the Ripon Science Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, Eastern Star, Monday Book Club in Appleton, and the Beloit 20th Century Club.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Beryl (John) Irvine of Bettendori, IA and Fay (Jerry) Marchant of Ripon; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and I sister, Mrs. Beryl Roblier of Rhinelander.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at 11:00 AM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with the Reverend David Busker officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in White Cemetery, Town of Coloma. A Memorial has been established.
