Alice H. Rutkowski, age 92, of Ripon, WI, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton.
Alice was born February 7, 1923, in Ripon the daughter of Michael and Dorothy (Bednarek) Dorsch. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1941. Affectionately known as Big A, she was a lifelong resident of Ripon and worked at the Ripon Knitting Works, Speed Queen and finally retired after 30 years as the Tournament Director at the Pin Bowl Lanes.
Alice was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. She enjoyed reading and watching Lawrence Welk. She was an avid Packer, Badger, and Brewer fan and a self appointed, outspoken coach. Alice was courageous, strong and fiercely independent throughout her entire life. She was devoted to her family and reveled in the successes and happiness of her children and grandchildren. Alices spirit and presence will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Survivors include her daughters, Judith Michael of Grafton, WI, and Rita Rutkowski Weber (Mike Weber) of Fredonia, WI; sister, Bunnie Endeward of Ripon; brothers, E.J. (Annabelle) Dorsch also of Ripon and Col. Donald Dutch Dorsch of Mayflower, AK. Alice is further survived by grandsons, Tomas and Julio Weber, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and beloved grandson, Daniel.
Visitation for Alice will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 415 East Fond du Lac Street in Ripon.
A Memorial Mass for Alice will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at 1:00 pm at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. Reverend Robert A. Fictum, Reverend William Whalen, and Reverend Michael Ignaszak will concelebrate the mass. Inurnment will take place at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Princeton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Catherine of Siena Memorial Fund or to a charity of your choice.
