Alice Schleicher, age 97, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017, at Maplecrest with family by her side.
Alice was born July 26, 1920, in Lewisville, MN, the daughter of Paul and Lydia (Schwartz) Engel. She graduated from Truman High School in Minnesota in 1939. On April 26, 1942, Alice married Darwin Schleicher. From 1942 1945 she worked at the Ripon Egg Plant. Alice then returned to the work force as a secretary for the National Forensic League from 1969 2002.
She became a member of Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church when it began in 1938her brother-in-law Marcus Fleischer was the Pastor, and her sister Erma was the organist. She remained an active and devout member of the church all of her life. At family reunions, she was every ones favorite Aunt; in the neighborhood near her 121 Cedar St. home, she was every ones favorite neighbor, and within her home, she was the best Mom and the best Grandma that one could ever have. She became an e-mailer extraordinaire, had a signature smile that could light up a room, had a sweet tooth like no one else, and she had a most endearing sense of humor. Her style was to take care of everyone before herself, all of the time.
