Alice “Elsie” L. Thiel, 78, Ripon, died April 13, 1995, at Juliette Manor Nursing Home, Berlin.
She was born July 16, 1917, in Berlin, a daughter of the late Bertram and Cecelia (Secora) Parker. She attended St Michael Catholic School in Berlin. On May 22, 1944, she was united in marriage to Carl F. Thiel at St Michael Rectory in Berlin. He passed away on February 23, 1972. Alice worked at the Ripon Knitting Works for many years and then for Sand Knit
Corp. of Waupun until her retirement. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ripon and the St Patrick Altar Society.
She is survived by 1 brother, Bert (Marjorie) Parker of Berlin; a special niece, Andrea Wichman of Ripon, along with many other nieces and nephews, grand-nieces & nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 brother, George, and 4 sisters,
Isabell, Katherine, Helen and Agnes.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 17 at St Patrick Catholic Church, Ripon. The Reverend John A. Schmitz will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 until 6 P.M., with a Rosary at 3:30 P.M. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. A memorial has been established for St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ripon.
