Alice Marie Zirger, age 52, of Gainesville, FL, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 1987, at her home in Gainesville, FL.
Alice was born December 2, 1934 in Fond du Lac, WI, the daughter of William Thomas and Hildagarde Suzanne (Thompson) Zerneke. She graduated Valedictorian from Green Lake High School in 1953. Alice went on to further her education at University of Florida. On June 30, 1961, she married Arthur Joseph Zirger, Jr. Alice belonged to Asian Students Association at the University of Florida. She was also a candidate for Bachelor of Arts Degree in Asian Studies at the University of Florida in May of 1987.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Joseph Zirger, Jr.; two daughters, Dr. Val (Billie Jo) Runge of Natick, MA and Cheryl A. Zirger of Melrose, FL; two sons, J. Scott Zirger of Oakland, CA and Arthur J. Zirger IV of Pasadena, CA and two sisters, Jo Ann (Clarence) La Mire of Green Lake and Wilma Mashuda of Racine. Alice was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Service for Alice will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 1987, at 11:00 am at The Federated Church of Green Lake with The Reverend Dwight Bastian officiating. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. Memorials for Asian Studies Scholarship Fund at the University of Florida in the name of Alice M. Zirger.
