Alma Stark

Alma E. Stark, 94, of Ripon, WI, passed away January 2, 1995, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon.

Mrs. Stark was born October 20, 1900, in the Town of Nepeuskun, the fourth of fourteen children to the late Otto and Emma Gehrke Retzlaff, Sr. She attended Outlet School in Waukau. On November 7, 1926, she married Emil Otto Stark, and they made their home in Ripon. Mr. Stark passed away on March 28, 1978. Alma was a lifelong member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Women’s Guild, Altar Guild, Royal Neighbors, Homemakers and Friendship Card Club.

She is survived by four children, Harold Stark and his wife, Lillian of Oshkosh, Marvin Stark and his wife, Marilyn of Ripon, Verna Herreid and her husband, H. Roger of Richardson, TX and Marilyn Patrick and her husband, Bruce of Waupun. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Erna Van Kirk and Elsie Peschke, both of Ripon; one brother, Wilbert Retzlaff of Mole Lake, WI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters and six brothers.

Funeral service for Alma E. Stark will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon. Reverend Eric Burnard will officiate and interment will be in Liberty Prairie Cemetery in Pickett.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 8 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon and again on Friday from noon until the time of the service at church. A memorial has been established for Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in her name.
