Alvin John Giese, 91, of the Town of Ripon, died Wednesday, February 7, 1996, at his home.
He was born January 31, 1905, in rural Ripon, the son of the late August and Emma (Poblitz) Giese. After graduating from Ripon High School, Alvin attended Oshkosh Business College. On September 14, 1929, he married the former Myrtle Stindt. Mrs. Giese passed away on October 18, 1987. Alvin worked in the Service Department at Speed Queen for over 40 years and was a member of the Speed Queen
Retirees. He was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon, and had lived in Ripon all of his life.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Dorothy Quade of Markesan and Darlene (Stanley) Kwiatkoske of Ripon; 1 son, Donald (Susan) Giese of Ripon; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; I sister, Alice Ulrich of Horicon; and his special care giver, Dorothy Boese of Ripon.
Funeral services for the late Alvin Giese will be Friday at 12:30 P.M. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. The Rev. Eric Burnard will officiate, and interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
