Alyce Mae Gersonde, 70, of Ripon, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Parkview Care Center, with her family at her side.
On April 15, 1929, Alyce Mae was born the daughter of Clifford Glen and Bessie Irene (Reddick) Calkins in Beaver Dam, WI. She attended the University of Wisconsin,. Stevens Point. On July 12, 1952 she married Donald Russell Gersonde in Dubuque, IA. Alyce was a loving wife and mother. She was also a member of the Christian Women’s Club, Ripon Historical Society, Ripon Women’s Club, and the Turtle Club of Trier.
Survivors include her daughters; Monica Lynn (Stephen) Blandford, and Melody Rae Gersonde both of Ripon, Michelle Kae (Andrew)Hanneman of Rhinelander, WI, Mama Marie Petruzzi of Goshen, NY, and one son Mark Allen (Jana) Gersonde of Huntington Beach, CA. Nine grandchildren and one great-grandson. One brother Kenneth G. (Betty) Calkins of Norwalk, IA Alyce was preceded in death by her husband Donald, and her parents.
A memorial service will be held on March 15, 2000, at 11 AM, at the First Congregational Church of Ripon with the Rev. Debora Hillgartner officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service. lnurnment will follow in the Mt. Repose Cemetery, in the Town of Friendship, Adams County. In Lieu of Flowers Memorials may be sent to Childrens Cancer Research (American Cancer Society).
