Alyse Riemer Zabel, age 15, of Ripon, WI, grabbed Jesus’ hand as she left her family home on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, to go home to heaven after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Alyse was born July 8, 1996, in Fond du Lac, WI, the daughter of Barry and Beth (Henke) Zabel. She would have been a sophomore this year at Ripon High School, graduating with the class of 2014. Alyse has a wonderful church family in Ripon Community Church. She had a love for art and animals and she saw beauty in all things around her.
Survivors include her parents, Barry and Beth Zabel of Ripon, WI; brother, Kyle Zabel of Seattle, WA; sister, Casey Zabel, a student at UW Milwaukee, WI; paternal grandparents, Alfred and Edna Zabel of Ripon, WI; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Lois Henke of Markesan, WI; three uncles, Dale Henke of Markesan, WI, David Henke of Markesan, WI and Mark (special friend, Erin Dodge) Zabel of Greeley, CO; two aunts, Karen (Ed) Ellsworth of Ripon, WI and Faye (special friend, John Samuelson) Zabel of Markesan, WI. Alyse is preceded in death by her infant sister, Danielle.
A Reception for Alyse Zabel will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, from 3 – 6:00 pm at Pillsbury Hall, Green Lake Conference Center W2511 State Rd. 23, Green Lake, WI 54941. Once in conference center grounds, please watch for signs.
The Life Celebration Service for Alyse Zabel will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, promptly at 6:00 pm at Pillsbury Hall, Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake. Pastor Mike Holba will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in Fairwater Cemetery in the Village of Fairwater. Memorials may be given to Alyse Zabel Benefit Account, US Bank 738 W. Fond du Lac St. Ripon, WI 54971.
