Andrea M. Werzinske, 78, of Ripon, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, with her family at her side.
Andrea was born in Berlin, WI on December 6, 1930, the daughter of Andrew L. and Katherine L. (Parker) Markofski. She attended St. Michael Catholic School and graduated from Berlin High School in 1948. Andrea worked as a telephone operator from 1948 to 1952, and as a typesetter for the Five County Shopper from 1970 to 1996. On May 29, 1999, she married Benjamin Werzinske at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, in Ripon. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, the Altar Society, Twin R Homemakers, Ripon Business & Professional Women’s Club, Heartland Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, Ripon Senior Center Assoc, and the Church Women United.
Survivors include her husband, Benjamin Werzinske of Ripon; four daughters, Barbara (Don) Neff of Seattle, WA, Patti (Bruce) Peppler of Pickett, WI, Joan (James) Graf of Littleton, CO, Margaret (Frank) Kautzer of Neenah, WI; the daughters father, William Wichman; three grandchildren, Luke and Amanda Kautzer, and Matthew Peppler; two sisters, Irene Foslin of Janesville, WI, Beatrice (Bob) Meulemans of Winneconne, WI; one brother, Robert (Karen) Markofski of Berlin, WI; one step-son, James (Grace) Werzinske; two step-grandchildren, Sarah and John Werzinske; sister-in-law, Charlotte Steinkraus; brother-in-law, Paul (Roseanne) Werzinske, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends that were very special to her. Andrea was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Sister M. Sharon Markofski (Rita).
Visitation for Andrea M. Werzinske will be held on Sunday, April 5, 2009, from 5-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 8:00 p.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again on Monday, April 6, 2009, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom Street in Ripon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2009, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom Street in Ripon, with the Reverend Robert A. Fictum officiating. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Berlin, WI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Andrea’s name.
