Sgt. Andrew P. Wallace, 25, of Oshkosh, died Monday, September 26, 2005 while serving his country in Iraq.
Andrew was born on May 26, 1980, in West Union, IA, the son of Peter and Janie (Keune) Wallace. He graduated from Ripon High School and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Andrew was a physical education teacher at Emmeline Cook Elementary School in Oshkosh, and an adaptive physical education teacher at Oshkosh North High School. He was a member of the Wisconsin Education Association, an assistant wrestling coach at Oshkosh North, and a WIAA sports official for softball, baseball and football. Andrew was a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard deployed with Charlie Company 2nd Battalion 127th Infantry. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. On July 10, 2004, he married Angela Hill in Pewaukee, WI.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Wallace of Oshkosh; his mother, Janie (Joel) Brockman of Ripon; his father, Pete (Sue) Wallace of Fox Lake; mother and father in-law, Mike and Karen Hill of Wales; brothers, Matthew and Timothy Wallace; step- brothers, James and Jeremy Brockman, and Jeremy (Kelley) Thrasher; step-sisters, Lisa (Dan) Ellis and Laura (Dave) Albright; brother-in-law, Nicholas Hill; grandparents, Vern Keune, Les (Betty) Wallace, Greg (Pat) Hertel, John (Cheryll) Hill, and Shirley (Bo) Vanman; great-grandmother, Cecelia (Erv) Krolikowski; aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews. Andrew was preceded in death by his grandmother, Junice Keune.
Funeral services for Sgt. Andrew P. Wallace will be held on Thursday, October 6th, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 Griswold St. Ripon with Pastor Alan F. Schaffmeyer officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 5th, 2005 at the church from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial with full Military Honors will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. In lieu of flowers, Memorials have been set up at the, Associated Bank of Oshkosh, 444 N. Sawyer St, Oshkosh, WI 54902, Farmers State Bank, 314 W. State St, Fox Lake, WI 53933 and M&I Bank in Ripon, 333 Blackburn St., Ripon, WI 54971.
