Anita E. Penke, age 96, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Bethel Home in Oshkosh, WI.
Anita was born on October 1, 1913, in Ripon, the daughter of William and Lillie (Trapp) Prellwitz. On June 26, 1935, Anita married Walter Penke in Ripon. She and her husband farmed for many years. Anita also worked at Miles Kimbell for 20 years. She belonged to Lake Shore Homemakers. She enjoyed doing hand crafts such as needlepoint, latch hook and tatting and giving them to her family and friends. Anita also enjoyed gardening, mowing lawn and later in life doing word find puzzles. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, WI.
Survivors include her son, Darwin (Connie) Penke of Port Edwards, WI; daughter, Diane Penke of Oshkosh, WI and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Anita was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lillie Prellwitz; husband, Walter Penke; brother, Arnold Prellwitz and sister, Dela Asmus.
Visitation for Anita Penke will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010, from 4 – 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr. Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, from 10 – 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Anita Penke will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial is being established in her name.
The family would like to thank all of the staff of Bethel Home and caregivers from Hospice for all of their loving care and support during this difficult time.
