Anne Harriet Calden, 86, of 336 Scott St., Ripon, died Friday, July 8, 1988, at her home.
She was born August 3, 1901, to Gustavus Brown Horner and Grace Corliss Horner in Ripon. On August 15, 1931, she married Roland Calden and he died on July 4, 1979.
Mrs. Calden was the great-granddaughter of John Scott Horner who was Acting Governor of the Michigan Territory and later Co-Founder of Ripon.
She was a graduate of Ripon College with a Masters Degree in history. She taught public school in Illinois. She was an insurance agent. She worked for her father in the Horner Agency and took over the agency in 1960. She later sold the agency to the present owner, Russell Troudt. Most recently she was an Antique Dealer. She took over the Barn Antiques after the death of her sister, Emily Eaton of Green Lake and she operated the business for many years. She had lived in Ripon most of her life.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Grace Glass of Milbrook, Ontario; one sister, Mrs. Frances Thomas of Ripon and one niece, Anne Dee Bishop of Barron, WI.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 12, 1988, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Ripon with the Reverend R. Edgar Wallace officiating. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon.
There will be no visitation.
