Annette Carol Hackleman, age 85, peacefully passed into eternal life on Sunday, November 7, 2010. Her husband, daughters, and son-in-law were present to witness her Lord and Savior bringing her home to be joyously reunited with family and friends that preceded her.
Annette was born on July 25, 1925, in Berlin, WI to Spencer and Sylvia Sorenson. Growing up, she enjoyed spending much of her time at the soda counter in her dads pharmacy. As an adult, Annette became a self-taught, accomplished quilter winning top awards for her hand sewn creations. She became Secretary of the Embroiders Guild and began teaching her craft around the country through educational lectures, including speaking to an audience of over 1,400 at the Home Makers Convention at Purdue University. Upon her husbands retirement, Annette and Richard moved to Ripon in 1991. On May 27, 2010, Annette and Richard celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Annette is survived by her husband, Richard Dick Hackleman, her two daughters, Gail (Paul) Taylor and Carol Hackleman.
There will be a service for family at Nepeuskun Cemetery, Town of Nepeuskun, on Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Pastor Joshua Sherman, of Ripon Baptist Church will be officiating. Memorials may be sent to Agnesian Hospice Hope of Green Lake, 745 South St. Green Lake, WI 54941.
