Anthony Tony S. Vranak, age 85, of Ripon, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 31, 2014, as a result of an automobile accident.
Tony was born May 13, 1929, in Pleasant Prairie, WI, the son of Joseph and Julia (Maurascheck) Vranak. Tony was the last surviving child of eighteen children. He graduated from high school and went on to serve our country in the United States Army. On April 29, 1951, Tony married Jean C. Vanderfin at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Fort Bliss, TX. He was employed with American Brass as a crane operator and also Gordon Auto Parts as a handyman. Tony was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, Knights of Columbus, Ripon Medical Center Auxiliary and the Ripon Lions Club. He was a volunteer for the Food Pantry, delivered for Meals on Wheels, worked the grill for many non-profit organizations, delivered communion for St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and enjoyed playing Bingo at Michalenes and Maple Crest.
Survivors include four nieces, Nancy Vranak, Pat Wood, Lori Christensen and Jane Moddes and six nephews, LeRoy Madsen Jr., Warren Madsen, Michael Vranak, David Vranak, Hank Wrzinski and Joe Wrzinski. Tony was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Jean.
Visitation for Anthony will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014, from 4 6:00 pm at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 415 East Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Mass of Christian Burial for Anthony will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014, at 6:00 pm at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. Reverend Robert A. Fictum will officiate. Interment will take place on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. George Cemetery, 2909 Sheridan Rd. Kenosha, WI 53140.
