Arden Lee Sauer, 59, of N8980 S. Koro Road, Ripon, was received into the arms of his Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, May 4, 2002 at his home with his family at his side.
Arden was born on April 17, 1943 in the Town of Ripon the son of Lyle Arden and Arline Laura (Steinberg) Sauer. He graduated from Ripon High School and attended U. W. Fond du Lac. On April 2, 1964 he married Mary Elizabeth Will in Norfolk, VA. Arden served his country in the U.S. Navy from Dec. 1961 to April 1965 both in the Navy and the Navy Reserve. After his military service, he worked as a Research Technician in the Experimental Dept. at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac for 13 years and than he started farming on his own, in the Town of Ripon. Arden was a member of the Ripon Baptist Church, Ripon Ridge Riders, and the Ripon Harmony Kings. He also served as a Cub Scout leader and Little League coach.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Ripon and their children, Jeffrey (Julie) Sauer, Rosalie (Brian) Bayer, Anthony (Pamela) Sauer, Kurtis (Jodi) Sauer; eight grandchildren, his mother Arline Sauer; brother, David; sisters, Beverly (Francis) Garro, Debra (Todd) Parrish. Also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Arden was preceded in death by his father, Lyle.
Funeral services for Arden will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at 11:00 am at the Ripon Baptist Church, with Rev. J. Douglas Hanback officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 7, 2002 from 4 to 7 pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and also on Wednesday May 8, 2002 at the church from 10 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials may be directed to Ripon Baptist Church.
