Arleen Emilie Sherwood, 83, of 662 Emerson St, Ripon, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Ripon Medical Center.
Arleen was born on January 25, 1922 the daughter of Ferdinand and Elsa (Wepner) Sommerfeldt in Ripon. She graudated from Ripon High School and married Sidney L. Sherwood on August 31, 1946. Arleen was a homemaker and worked at Ripon Community Printers and was a lifelong member and a past Guild member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Survivors include her daughter; Nancy (Ralph) Baker of Oshkosh, son; Ralph (Donna) Sherwood, Daughters; Sue (Richard) Kohl, and Anna Sherwood all of Ripon. Three grandchildren; Joshua Warren of Oshkosh, Angela Kohl of Oshkosh, and Christopher Kohl of Madison. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law; Rachel Sherwood of Fountain View Care Center, Ripon, and Marilyn Calderon of Fox Lake, IL, special nieces , nephews and their families. Arleen was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney, one brother; Marvin Sommerfeldt and her parents.
Funeral services for Arleen E. Sherwood will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon, with Rev. Mark R. West officiating. Friends may call on Saturday at the church from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials can be made out to Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ or the Central Wisconsin Cancer Center in Fond du Lac.
