Arlene Fenner

December 3, 1938 — April 26, 2005

Arlene Fenner, 66, of rural Ripon, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 26, 2005 at Ripon Medical Center after a brief, but courageous battle with acute
myeloid leukemia. She was surrounded by her family that loves her so very much and will miss her terribly.

Arlene was born December 3, 1938, in rural Wautoma, a daughter of Millard and Loretta (Striech) Draves. She was one of five daughters. Arlene was a graduate of Wautoma High School. After graduating, Arlene moved to Ripon and worked as a teller at the First National Bank.

On June 13, 1959, she married Chester (Chet) Fenner at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. They were blessed with a loving marriage for nearly 46 years. Since August of 1961, they have pursued a farming career. Arlene played a major role in the success of the farm. She was also a wonderful mom to her 3 children, as well as her daughters-in-law and son-in-law. She was an adoring grandmother to her 6 grandchildren.

Arlene’s passion in her life was spending countless hours with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, and taking care of her yard. She was an active member of Immanuel United Methodist Church and belonged to the Priscilla Circle. She also volunteered at Ripon Medical Center for 22 years.

She has been described as being a very generous lady. Arlene was very gentle and kind hearted. She had a loving spirit and deep faith in God.

Arlene is survived by her husband, Chet; her 3 children and their families:
Rick Fenner and his wife Lori, and children Katelyn & Carson of Oshkosh; Julie Bock and her husband, Keith and son Brett of Ripon; and Ron Fenner and his wife, Annie and children Austin, Hayden & Landon of Ripon. She is further survived by her mother, Loretta Draves of Wautoma, 4 sisters: Jeanette Sturgul of Neshkoro, Jan O’Kon of Oshkosh, Barbara (James) Blader of Wautoma, and Marion (Marvin) Mischka of Wautoma, 2 sisters-in-law; Eunice Schultz of Madison and Mardelle Schultz of Ripon. She is also survived by 9 nephews and 10 nieces. She has many other relatives and so many close, dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; Millard Draves, her in-laws; Harvey and Lorena Fenner, and brothers-in-law; Harold Schultz, Tom Sturgul and Allen Schultz.

Services will be held at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2005. The Rev. Neil S. Wilson will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 28 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated through the family to
Immanuel United Methodist Church, Ripon Medical Center or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
