Arlyn "Birddog" Thiel

Arlyn “Birddog” Lloyd Thiel, age 81, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Fountain View Care Center, Ripon.
He was born on January 4, 1933, in Green Lake, the son of Reinhold and Ella (Schueter) Thiel. He graduated from Ripon High School and went on to serve our country in the United States National Guard. In 1952, he married Beverly J. Beck at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon. Arlyn worked as an agronomist and was a lifelong employee of Ripon Co-op.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Ripon, WI; children, Michael A. Thiel (Linda Brown), Ripon, WI, Timothy A. (Lynn) Thiel, Ripon, WI, Thomas L. (Dawn) Thiel, Pickett, WI; and Lori A. Thiel; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Thiel.
