Arvilla Winkler

Arvilla Schmuhl Winkler, age 93, died Thursday morning, June 8, 2000 at the Markesan Resident Home, Markesan. She was born on February 9, 1907, in the Township of Metomen at the home of her parents, Frank and Alvina Werth Schmuhl. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1925, and attended secretarial school before working at the Shaler Company in Waupun. She married Walter Winkler on April 22, 1930, at Zion Lutheran Church, Fairwater. They lived at 612 Park St for 40 years until his death on April 17, 1970. Mrs. Winkler moved to Russell Manor in Ripon in 1985 before moving to the Markesan Home in 1991.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Neal and LaVonne Winkler; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Louise and Gary Peterson; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and a granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Fairwater on Tuesday, June 13, 2000 at 2 PM with Pastor Tom Meyer officiating. Friends and relatives may call at the church before the service from 1-2 PM. Burial will be held at Fairwater Cemetery.
