Audrey E. Ahlbom, age 87, of Redgranite, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2009, at Juliette Manor in Berlin, WI.
Audrey was born on November 23, 1921, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of William and Ethel (Hartman) Andersen. She graduated from high school and married Ragnar Ahlbom in Freeport Long Island, New York in 1942. Audrey owned the Craft Emporium in Ripon and taught sewing and crafts for 23 years at the Senior Center in Florida. She also worked during WWII making the detonators for bombs. Audrey was also a mother, wife and homemaker. She was a member of Eastern Star, Artex and the Federated Church in Green Lake.
Survivors include her daughter, Ethel Dagny Coe; her granddaughter, Faith (Mark) Edgren; four great grandchildren, Hope, Chase, Forrest, and Alyssa; and one great-great granddaughter, Lakelynn. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, William and Kenneth; sister, Dorothy Ridcoloso; and a brother, William Anderson.
Visitation for Audrey Ahlbom will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009, from 9:30 am – 10:00 am, at the Federated Church in Green Lake.
Memorial Service for Audrey Ahlbom will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at 10:00 am at the Federated Church in Green Lake. Reverend Karen Gygax-Rodriguez will officiate. Inurnment of both Audrey and her husband Ragnar will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Ripon. A memorial has been established in her name.
