August Kopplin

August Carl Kopplin, age 93, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Monday, January 7, 1991, at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.
He was born March 9, 1897, in Germany. He married Phoebe Spudick on January 26, 1930. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Kopplin had lived in the Green Lake area all his life. He had been a road contractor and started his business by building the roads in the American Baptist Assembly. He was an avid sportsman and was instrumental in building of the Green Lake trout rearing ponds and the stocking of trout in Green Lake.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ellen Roth and Arlene Allen, both of Green Lake; five grandchildren, Edward and Greg Roth, Jennifer Simon, Kim Allen and Penny Reyes, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Services for Mr. Kopplin will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Deborah Roth of Hamel, MN., officiating. Interment will be in the Dartford Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name for the Big Green Lake Fishing Club.
