August (Augie) R. Roeder, age 81, of Ripon, WI, died Saturday, August 19, 2000, at his home.
Augie was born March 18, 1919, in the Town of Green Lake, a son to Robert Sr. and Ella (Harder) Roeder. He was educated in Ripon, and served his country from 1942 – 1945 in the Army-Air Force Medical Corps. After returning to Ripon, he was employed as a forklift driver at Speed Queen, Ripon. Augie was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Schultz-Klemp-Wentland Post #5278.
Survivors include one brother, Robert F. (Mabel) Roeder of Ripon and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 22, 2000, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm with a V.F.W. service at 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 23, 2000, at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Reverend Rebecca A. Johnston, of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon will officiate. Interment will be at Green Lake Center Cemetery, Town of Green Lake. Memorials may be directed to the V.F.W. Schultz-Klemp-Wentland Post #5278.
