Aurea Gavilan-Rodriguez, age 75, Green Lake, WI, died March 21, 2001, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.
She was born November 11, 1925, in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, a daughter to Gregorio and Angela (Vega) Gavilan. She attended high school at Juana Diaz. On May 2, 1953, she married and became a housewife. Aurea has resided in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Manhattan, Kansas and most recently in Green Lake where she was a member of the Federated Church of Green Lake.
Survivors include her two sons, William Rodriguez and Margit of Darmstadt, Germany and Hugo N. Rodriguez and Karen Gygax-Rodriguez of Green Lake; grandchildren, Michelle and Cheryl Rodriguez and David, Derek and Andrew Rodriguez; six brothers and four sisters. Preceding her in death were her parents, Gregorio and Angela Gavilan; child, Guillermo Rodriguez, Jr. and husband, Guillermo Rodriguez.
Memorial service for Aurea Gavilan will be Saturday, March 24, 2001, at 11 am at the Federated Church of Green Lake with Pastor Karen Gygax0Rodriguez officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 – 11:00 am at the church. Inurnment will take place in Puerto Rico.
