Barbara Berndt

Barbara Lorraine Berndt, age 85, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, 2014.
Barbara was born January 14, 1929, the daughter of Fred and Mabel (Buelow) Crook. On June 28, 1946, she married Roy Berndt at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon. Barbara’s greatest joy was for her bus kids. She drove for 29 years for Green Lake Schools. Barbara was active in 4-H, Homemakers in Green Lake, Green Lake Willis-Chapel Legion Post #306 Auxillary, Fairwater Historical Society. She was a life-long member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon and a very devoted Sunday school teacher. Barbara enjoyed first and foremost her family, Genealogy, quilting, flowers and also birds.
Survivors include her nine children, Bonnie (Steve) Japuntich, Penny (Tim) Holdorf, David (Linda) Berndt, Barbara (Arnie) Dahlke, Jr., Herman “Rick” (Diane) Berndt, Kathy (Dale) Grahn, Carol (Jerry) Dolske, Norman (Cindy) Berndt, Danny (Jacky) Berndt; special family member, Wendy Van Denburgh; grandchildren, Brian (Anne) and Rusty (Rachael) Japuntich, Chad (Melanie) Holdorf and Beth (Jeff) Junemann; Ryan (Khyl) Berndt, Megan (Matt) Chrisler and Lindsay Berndt, Terri (Cory) Dahlke, Chris (Krystal) Dahlke and Becky (Gerry) Brillon, Kim and Heather Berndt, Heidi (Jason) Gilliland, Julie (Noam) Littman and Troy (Karla) Grahn, Amanda and Justin (Sam) Dolske, Angie, Nate, Zachary (Amy), Robert and Krystal Berndt, Allen, Adam (Miranda) and Alyssa (Andy) Berndt; great-grandchildren, Saul, Clayton, Kailyn, Reese, Garrett, Carson, Ramsey Jo, Kaylyn, Aaron, Samantha, Ayden, Ezra, Jordan, Willow, Windsor, Noah and Emery; two sisters, Janet Rose and Charlene Frederick; three sisters-in-law, Mabel Graff, Eula and Nadja Berndt; one brother-in-law, Almond Meyer and numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy, seven brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law.
Visitation for Barbara will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014, from 9 – 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Barbara will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014, at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon. Reverend Jerry Schrankler will officiate. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. Memorials may be directed to Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St., Ripon, WI 54971, Green Lake Willis-Chapel Legion Post #306 P.O. Box 448, Green Lake, WI 54941, and Generations Hospice, 1020 S. Main St., Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
