Benjamin M. Sylvester, age 67 of Ripon, WI passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 1956 at Ripon Municipal Hospital.
Benjamin was born in Stoughton, WI on November 22, 1888, the son of William and Mary (Boletta) Sylvester. He was educated in Stoughton public schools and worked as an electrician. In 1911 he married Idella M. O'Connon in Mt. Horeb. Benjamin has lived in Ripon for the past 32 years. He pitched for Ripon baseball teams for many years.
Benjamin is survived by two sons, Ignatius of Ripon and Robert of Modesto, CA; two daughters, Mrs. H.W. Hall of Downers Grove, IL and Bonnie Sylvester of Madison, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and a sister.
Visitation for Benjamin will be held from 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 31, 1956 until 9:00 am on Friday, June 1, 1956 at Butzin Funeral Home in Ripon. A Rosary will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 31, 1956 at 8:00 pm.
Funeral service for Benjamin will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, June 1, 1956 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon, with Reverend John T. Cullen officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Ripon.
