Benjamin Werzinske

Benjamin L. Werzinske, age 83, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014, at Ripon Medical Center.
Benjamin was born August 10, 1931, in Ripon, the son of Benjamin F. and Angeline M. (Hieland) Werzinske. He graduated from Ripon High School with the class of 1950. Benjamin served our country in the Wisconsin National Guard from 1947 to 1959. On September 4, 1954, he married Delores Jezeske at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake. Delores passed away on May 18, 1993. Benjamin then married Andrea Wichman on May 29, 1999 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church) in Ripon. Andrea passed also on April 3, 2009. Benjamin worked for Mercury Marine as a machinist for 42 years, retiring in 1996. He volunteered at Willowbrook Apartments and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon, Knights of Columbus #4877 and a member and past president of the Ripon Senior Citizen Association.
Survivors include his son, James (Grace) Werzinske of Cincinnati, OH; granddaughter, Sarah (Ryan) Feasel, of Ostrander, OH; grandson, John (special friend, Caitlin Ramsay) Werzinske of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Charlotte Steinkraus of Neenah, WI; brother, Paul (Rozanne) Werzinske of Omro, WI; stepchildren, Barbara (Don) Neff of Seattle, WA, Patti (Bruce) Peppler of Pickett, WI, Joan (James) Graf of Littleton, CO and Margaret (Frank) Kautzer of Neenah, WI; step grandchildren, Luke (Meaghan) Kautzer, Amanda (Ryan) Leahy and Matthew (Melissa) Peppler and many other relatives and friends. Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Delores; second wife, Andrea and brother-in-law, Earl Steinkraus.
Visitation for Benjamin will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014, from 9:30 – 11:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 11:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. Reverend Robert A. Fictum will officiate. A private inurnment will take place at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon on Monday, November 17, 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ripon Senior Citizen Association, 100 E. Jackson St., Ripon, WI 54971 or to Ben’s family.
