Bernadette “Bernie” V. Splitt, age 83, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Ripon Medical Center.

Bernie was born on February 27, 1934, in Ripon, the daughter of Hilmar and Marie (Cain) Redemann. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon. She graduated from Ripon High School in 1953, and then furthered her education at MPTI. On June 27, 1953 she married Roger Splitt at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Ripon. She had three children, Peggy, Sue, and John. Bernie was an avid bowler for over twenty-five years, and was a member of the 600 bowling club of Wisconsin, in which she had the score of 600 several times. She was a President, Vice President, and Treasurer for the Ladies Rosary Society at St. Wenceslaus. Bernie was a member and secretary for the Milwaukee Archdiocese Catholic Council Society of Women. As a member of the VFW Auxiliary, she also served as Chaplin. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Ripon, a member of the Catholic Knights Society, and held many offices within. Bernie was also a member of Daughters of Isabella of Fond du Lac, a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for many years, and a proud member of The Golden Girls. She volunteered at Barlow Park School in Ripon to help first and second graders learn to read. Bernie worked at Fountain View Nursing Home for over thirty-two years.

Bernie is survived by her children, Peggy (Bruce) Lindsay of Fremont, WI, Sue (Ron) Mlodzik of Ripon, WI, and John (Colleen Kok) Splitt of Ripon, WI; four grandchildren, Travis (Tiffany) Mlodzik of Bloomington, MN, Andrew (Amber) Lindsay of Appleton, WI, TJ (Tiffany) Mlodzik of Ripon, WI, and Adam (special friend, Molly Hoff) Lindsay of Reno, NV; six great-grandchildren, Adelaide and Sydney Mlodzik, Nora and Abram Lindsay, and Wyatt and Isla Mlodzik; step-granddaughters and step-great-grandchildren, Colleen (Grant) Billings, and Graham, Kelly (Rob) Block, children, Megan and Ashley; step-grandsons and step-great-grandchildren, Matt (Irene) Kok, children, Ava, Samantha, Alyssa, and Nicholas, Toby Kok, children, Myles and Silas; brothers, Robert (Betty) Redemann of Oshkosh, WI, David (Donna) Redemann of Lakewood, WA, James (Janice) Redemann of Green Bay, WI; sisters, Dolores Marquart of Albuquerque, NM, Terry (Fritz) Ferch of Ripon; sisters-in-law, Ruth Redemann of Winnetka, IL and Mary (Al) Wheeler of McFarland, WI. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bernie was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; her parents, Hilmar and Marie Redemann; parents-in-law, John and Gertrude Splitt; brother, William Redemann; sister, Betty Kurcz; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Marquart, Leo Kurcz, and Floyd Stellmacher; sisters-in-law, Maryann Redemann and Elaine Stellmacher; and further preceded in death by other family members.

A visitation for Bernie will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:45 pm on Thursday, December 14, 2017, followed by a VFW Auxiliary Service and then a Rosary, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI, 54971. Visitation again from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Friday, December 15, 2017, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 415 E. Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI, 54971.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernie will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, December 15, 2017, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Fond du Lac St. in Ripon, with Father William Whalen officiating. Interment will take place at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon. Memorials in Bernie's name may be directed to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 415 E. Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI, 54971.
