Bernadine "Billie" Marie Lueptow

Bernadine “Billie” Marie (Laboyeske) Lueptow,  age 96, of Ripon, WI, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

Billie was born on June 8, 1926 on her family’s farm in Princeton, Wisconsin, to Fred and Sadie (Maslowski) Laboyeske. She was the sixth of seven children. As a young adult she moved to Ripon, where she lived with three of her sisters while her brother-in-laws served in WWII. It was at that time she met the true love of her life, Donald, “Donnie”, Lueptow. They married on October 21, 1950. Their family grew with the birth of each of their seven children … Mary, Nick, Michele, Anne, Peter, Catherine and Matthew.

Her family and her faith were her greatest comforts. After her marriage she was a stay-at-home mom and volunteered in several local organizations. At her church (St. Patrick’s Catholic Church) she volunteered with the Alter Society, annual bazaars and funerals of her fellow parishioners. She also volunteered both as a librarian at St. Patrick’s Catholic School and for local blood drives.  

Billie was a gifted seamstress and quilter. She and Donnie loved evening walks, bowling, working on their home, traveling and golf. As avid golfers they traveled to many major golf tournaments and watched countless hours of golf on television. Her faith sustained her throughout her life as she daily attended mass, prayed the rosary and offered countless prayers for others. Those who knew her best would often turn to her for her prayers as they were regularly answered.

Billie is survived by six of her seven children, four sons-in-law, Rolan, Frank, Paul, and Doug, one daughter-in-law, Jane, twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved Donnie and son Nick, her parents, her six siblings and their spouses, and many, many friends.  

Visitation for Billie will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 9:00 - 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971. 

Mass of Christian Burial for Billie will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at All Saints Parish, N8566 WI-49, Berlin, WI 54923, with Rev. Jim Leary, OFM Cap and Rev. William Whalen officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon.
