Bernice Miller

Bernice Bertha Hollman Steinberg Miller, age 89, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.

Bernice was born September 1, 1925, in Fairwater, WI, the daughter of Herman and Anna (Wille) Hollman. She married Paul Steinberg Jr. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in 1946 and after he passed, Bernice married William Miller at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in 1980. She worked at Ripon Foods for 12 years and was also a housewife. Bernice was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her three children, Joann (Johann) Costello of Oshkosh, WI, Carol (David) Gray of Waupun, WI and Dennis (Sue) Steinberg of Oshkosh, WI; grandchildren, Jaina (Brian Ziegler) Butkiewicz, Jolene (Michael) Finley, Michael (Audrey) Steinberg, Amanda (Jason) Zick; great-grandchildren, Kyra Staub, Bradley and Brayden Butkiewicz, Noah and Farrah Finley, Ben Steinberg; Briana Ziegler and Karlee and Addison Zick. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Anna Hollman; husbands, Paul Steinberg Jr. and William Miller; son, Michael Steinberg; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Staub; granddaughter, Michele Steinberg; sisters, Caroline Geitzel, Mildred Przybyl, Audrey Kundinger and her twin sister, Beatrice Platta.

Visitation for Bernice will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014, from 10 – 12:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St., Green Lake, WI 54941.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at 12:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake. Father Philip Krogman will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be directed to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake.
