Bernice Shurpit

Bernice L. Shurpit, age 76, of Ripon, WI, passed away on July 28, 1985, at home.

Bernice was born December 25, 1908, in Randolph, WI, the daughter of Seymour and Elizabeth (Craine) Brooks. She married Edmund E. Shurpit in April of 1928. Bernice worked as a machine operator at Green Giant in Rosendale. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon.

Survivors include one son, Donald of Ripon, WI; three daughters, Ruth Schultz of Ripon, WI, Evelyn (William) Louden of Ripon, WI and Shirley Nigbor of Weyauwega, WI; 16 grandchildren, 17, great-grandchildren, two brothers, Frank Brooks of Waupun, WI and William Brooks of Reno, Nevada and one sister, Nellie Mathews of Hartford, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 9, 1981 and one son.

Visitation for Bernice will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 1985, from 5 – 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 8:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 1985, at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Reverend John A. Schmitz officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon.
