Bernice E. Warren, age 82, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2008, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Bernice was born on December 5, 1925, in Green Lake County, the daughter of Henry and Laura (Hanneman) Schimmel. She graduated from Brandon High School, and on June 19, 1946, married Franklin Butch Warren in Fairwater. Bernice worked as a book keeper for American Stores of Fairwater. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater, and also attended Ascension Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Bernice was a devout Christian who was very faithful in helping out at the church when needed. She was also a school bus driver. But in her spare time, Bernice loved to play cards, go dancing, and spend time with her many good friends.
Survivors include her brother, Glenn (Marilyn) Schimmel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews on both the Schimmel and Warren sides of the family. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Butch; and her brother, Harry.
Visitation for Bernice E. Warren will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater.
Funeral service for Bernice E. Warren will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church with Reverend Scott G. Ehle and Reverend Jeff Blain co-officiating. Interment will follow at Fairwater Cemetery in the Village of Fairwater. A memorial has been established.
