Bessie Jess, 92, of Ripon, WI, died Tuesday, October 18, 1994, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon.
Bessie was born June 8, 1902, in Ripon, a daughter to the late Valentine and Rosa Lisiecka Florek. She married Lawrence Jess on June 1, 1931. Bessie had lived in Ripon all of her life and was an operator for North-West Telephone. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and was a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband, Lawrence, she is survived by one son, Jim Jess of Ripon and David (Susan) Florek, who has lived his life with the Jess family. Further survivors include one granddaughter, Julie (Jeff) Hopp of Ripon; two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Allyson Hopp and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Jess will be Thursday at 3 pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend William L. Toelle will officiate. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
