Bessie Priske

Bessie Ada Priske, 98, formerly of Green Lake, died Monday evening, June 4, 2001, at the Markesan Resident Home in Markesan.

She was born March 15, 1903, in Green Lake Co., a daughter to William F. and Bertha (Nenneman) Wilde. She attended grade school at Shady Nook in Green Lake Co. Bessie graduated from Ripon High School, Green Lake Co. Normal School and Minneapolis Beautician School. On May 26, 1925, she married Edwin J. Priske in Waukegan, IL. She worked in a defense plant during World War II, but for most of her life she was a staff household manager at a private home in Green Lake. Mrs. Priske was a Charter Member of the Federated Church of Green Lake, and at one time a very active member in all church activities. She was a past member of the Green Lake 20th Century Club and the Royal Neighbors.

Survivors include nephews and nieces, Raymond Wilde of Markesan, Gordon Wilde of Berlin, Judy Wagner, Lois Winiecki and Danny Breivogel, and Pamela Priske, all of Green Lake, Donna Smith of Ripon, Steven Priske of TX, Joan Keipe of VA, and Teresa Priske of Appleton; several grandnieces and nephews; sister-In-law, Sophia Breivogel and brother-in-law, Norman Priske, both of Green Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Priske on November 18, 1955, parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral service for Bessie Priske will be Thursday, June 7, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Federated Church of Green Lake with Rev. Karen Gygax—Rodriguez officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. Memorials to the Federated Church of Green Lake.
