Betty Johnson, age 77, of Ripon, WI, with her husband by her side, passed away on Thursday, August 18th 2016 at Prairie Place in Ripon.

Betty was born September 3rd, 1938, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Earl and Gladys (Maloney) McGovern. Betty graduated from Messmer High School. On August 9th 1958 she married the love of her life, Chuck Johnson in Milwaukee at St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church.

Betty and Chuck bought a business and moved to Ripon in 1976 with their 4 children.

Several of Bettys many passions included cruises on sailboats, vacationing in Eagle River with family and friends, boating, bowling, cooking, gardening, playing cards (especially bridge), camping in a tent, Packers and Badgers football. The greatest of Betty’s passions however was the love of family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Chuck; sisters, Dorothy & Terri; three children, Dan (Julie), Steve (Julie), Kathleen (Jon); seven grandchildren, Ross, Andy, Melody, Maddie, Simon, Jon and Hunter and many nieces and nephews and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Earl “Mac”; her sister, Kay and beloved son, Mark.

Visitation for Betty Johnson will be held Monday, August 29th 2016, from 9 - 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St. Green Lake, WI 54941.

Memorial Mass for Betty Johnson will be held Monday August 29th at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake. Father Philip Krogman will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Salvation Army or an Animal Shelter of your choice.
