Betty Lou Bradley

Betty Lou Bradley nee Fisher, age 83, left this earth and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Bella Vista Manor in Oshkosh, WI.

Betty Lou was born on February 3, 1927, in the Town of Ripon, to Hazen and Luella (Philbrick) Fisher. She graduated from Ripon High School. Betty Lou met Gordon Bradley at a dance in Fairwater and on October 26, 1946, she married him in Markesan. They lived on their farm in the Town of Omro their entire married life. Betty Lou drove school bus for Van Meter of Ripon, she also worked as an event coordinator at the Pioneer Inn. Betty Lou retired from the Oshkosh school system where she worked as a paraprofessional. Betty Lou was involved in political campaigns and events in Madison, while supporting Gordon’s 20 years as State Representative. For the last 25 years, they spent their winters in Ft. Myers, Florida. Betty Lou had a passion for animals. During her lifetime, she was always surrounded by dogs and cats. Her most recent love was her Pomeranian, Daisy. Betty Lou loved the sunshine and gardening. She spent many hours with her flowers. She was also a painter, leaving behind many beautiful paintings. Betty Lou was a member at Elo Evangelical Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include her husband Gordon of 63 years; one daughter, LuAnn (Jim) Ruby of Oshkosh; three grandsons, Clayton Ruby of Madison, Cole (Kristin) Ruby of Madison, and Kevin Ruby of Oshkosh; two sisters, Gwendolyn Pahl and Annagene Priske of Ripon; special friend, Audrey White of Green Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Fisher; and grandson, Grant Ruby.

Visitation for Betty Lou Bradley will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, from 10 – 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr. Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral Service for Betty Lou Bradley will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at 11:00 am at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Pastor Judith Lipp will officiate. Interment will follow at Tice Cemetery adjoining the family farm in the Town of Omro. A memorial is being established in her name.


The family would like to thank Bella Vista Manor and Heartland Hospice for their care and support during the last three months.
